Our Mission at the Regenerative Medical Institute of Louisiana is to offer each patient the highest quality level of individualized care. We strive to treat the "whole patient", with intention and the goals of improving pain, increasing function and optimizing health.
Internationally known, Dr. Bond and our RMIL team will perform a thorough assessment, provide you with the proper diagnoses, and create a customized IROM / cell therapy treatment and recovery plan that's right for you.
Dr. Bond is far and away the most experienced Interventional Regenerative Orthopedic Medicine (IROM) specialist in LA, having brought both PRP and Stem-cell treatments here and performed the 1st cases in 2006-2007.
Regenerative Medicine is a sub-specialty of Medicine that utilizes various techniques and processes to stimulate cellular repair or healing of damaged tissues.
At Regenerative Medicine Institute of Louisiana, we employ a Total Systems approach to each patient in order to evaluate and correct any “total-body” deficiencies or aberrations, which may negatively influence healing. Regenerative Orthopedic techniques are proving to have a place in healing both acute injuries, and with those of a more chronic nature. The body’s Immune System can indeed heal many forms of chronic pain – if given the right environment, time, and stimulus.
Today, the management of chronic pain accounts for billions of healthcare dollars spent annually, and is all too often suppressed into relief temporarily by utilizing medications and interventions, which fail to address the underlying problem. This, unfortunately for the patient, leads to intermittent bouts of suppressed pain and continuations of the underlying cause of the pain.
At Regenerative Medicine Institute of Louisiana, our approach is different. Here, we attempt to target the underlying cause of the pain and remedy it. Specifically, we aim to heal it. By utilizing an integrated approach of regenerative medicine we have been able to help hundreds of patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain improve their daily function.
Regenerative medicine is a specialty with the goal of repairing and rebuilding damaged tissue naturally through targeted interventions. These interventions are multi-faceted: surgical injection procedures, removal of toxic mediators, such as anti-inflammatory agents, biomechanical approaches, such as weight loss, nutritional supplements, and behavioral changes.
The IROM - Disc Procedure is a non-surgical treatment option for patients suffering from degenerative lumbar, thoracic, or cervical discs. The procedure is intended to help patients avoid spinal fusion surgery or frequent high dose steroid epidural injections and their side effects.
The IROM - ADIPOSE procedure was created to combine a traditional Stem Cell Procedure with super-platelet mix and add a structural “fat graft” that’s filled with adipose stem cells. This graft can be used to help structural problems within the joint.
IROM - SAME DAY utilizes a patient’s own bone-marrow derived stem cells to enhance the body’s ability to regenerate damaged musculoskeletal tissues. The nucleated cell portion of the bone marrow aspirate is the fraction where the stem cells live, so the higher the number the better. The IROM - SAME DAY process produces about 3 times more of these important cells per cc injected.
IROM - Rotator Cuff is a targeted procedure for treating tears of the Rotator Cuff. Rotator Cuff tears are the most common injury of the shoulder, and the most difficult to successfully fix surgically. Of the 40,000 Rotator Cuff tear surgeries performed each year, 6 out of 10 fail, resulting in impaired strength and range of motion or re-tearing. IROM - Rotator Cuff has produced successful outcomes for a large percentage of patients treated.
IROM - ACL is a site-specific procedure developed for treating Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Tears. Torn ACL is one of the most common knee injuries we see and many ACL tears can be treated with a Stem Cell or Blood Platelet injection in all but the most serious cases. As long as the ACL is intact, we have seen good success in patients with partial ACL tears, as well as complete non-retracted anterior cruciate ligament tears.
How can you supercharge your own stem cells? This procedure yields a much more pure and higher concentration of platelets then is normally found in bedside machine made platelet rich plasma. Platelets contain healing growth factors and based on our in-vitro lab data, getting more of them to an area can help your own stem cells be more active.
There are times when the physician wants all of the growth factors contained in platelets immediately available to the area to prompt healing. In addition, there are areas of the body where using Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) may cause too much inflammation. As a result, our Regenerative Medicine team uses the procedure to crack open the platelets to allow all of the growth factors to be immediately available to your body.
Proliferation Injection Therapy, or Prolotherapy is the surgical injection procedure used to stimulate natural healing. These injections are placed into the targeted damaged tissue areas and promote a “proliferative” response by encouraging the body’s immune system to flood into the area and trigger the natural healing cascade.
Ultrasound-Guided Percutaneous Needle Tenotomy (PNT) is a procedure where a needle is advanced through the skin, under the direct visual guidance of using Ultrasound, to make small holes and slices in a tendon. This is done in order to treat tendinopathy and its tendon-related pain via causing microtrauma and breaks in the scar tissue.
Born and raised in South Louisiana, Dr. Bond graduated from LSU in 1992 with a B.S. in Zoology / Pre-Medical studies. After completing 1 year of Honors Research and Veterinary School, he entered a Ph.D. program in Physiology & Biophysics at the University of Arkansas Medical School in Little Rock. With medical school calling, Dr. Bond decided to step away from research and received a Master's of Science in Physiology & Biophysics in 1994, prior to entering medical school in 1995. Subsequently, he earned his Medical Doctorate from LSU Medical Center in New Orleans before completing a Family Medicine residency at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. His education continued with a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Sports & Musculoskeletal Medicine at Duke University Medical School in Durham, NC. In 2003, Dr. Bond was recruited to LSU Medical Center in New Orleans as the Chief of Sports Medicine.
During his three-year tenure as Chief of Sports Medicine at LSU, Dr. Bond lectured to medical students, residents, and fellows, and was the Medical Program Director for the LSU Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. After founding TotalCare Health and Wellness Medical Center in 2007, Dr. Bond became the first physician to perform ultrasound-guided Regenerative Injection Procedures, such as PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) & Bone Marrow stem cell procedures, for musculoskeletal / orthopedic conditions in the state of Louisiana. He has since performed thousands of these injections, making him far and away the most experienced practitioner of IROM, or Interventional Regenerative Orthopedic Medicine, in Louisiana and the southern Gulf States region.
In 2018, Dr. Bond opened the doors to the Regenerative Medicine Institute of Louisiana. Here, orthopedic treatments and procedures using adult stem cell therapy, prolotherapy, and platelet-rich plasma are delivered using precise ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, and dedicated regenerative medicine protocols.
Dr. Bond has served as the President of the American Association of Orthopaedic Medicine (AAOM), an international non-profit organization of physicians dedicated to the promotion of regenerative medicine education around the world. Recognized internationally as an expert in the field, Dr. Bond was the youngest President ever to lead the AAOM as the continued leader in Interventional Regenerative Orthopedics, and continues to lecture to physician colleagues, medical students and residents in international locations like Cancun, Hong Kong, Brazil, Peru, Argentina, and the Philippines.

"Before my procedure with Dr. Bond, I had severe lower back pain and could only stand for 10 minutes at a time before I started to shake and sweat. Now, it’s been 3 months since the Regenerative Medicine procedure and I can go 6-7 hours with NO ISSUES! Jumping up and down isn’t a problem, and my overall balance has improved.
Feel excellent and highly recommend. "
"Patient is feeling fantastic, procedure was a blast. Second time now doing Regenerative Medicine and the procedure and more importantly the results were terrific.
Thoroughly recommend the practice, staff and their talents."
"I experienced over 10 years of debilitating chronic pain and was unable to walk more that one block without severe pain or sleep more than an hour at a time. After going through several surgical procedures (I went to a big name clinic) which did not help, my PT referred me to Dr. Bond. He explained the root cause of my condition and prescribed regenerative therapy. Now, I am beyond thrilled to be able to work and play without the daily pain that absorbed so much of my energy and focus.
Thanks, Dr. Bond and caring staff for giving me my life back!"
